The classic vertical blind, reinvented in sound-absorbing fibre: stripes that zone a room, screen a window and change its acoustics as they turn.

The in-house development ACOUSTIC STRIPES by Création Baumann combines flexible room partitioning, control of room acoustics, and privacy and glare protection in a new interpretation of the classic vertical blind – in the room or at the window. Opened or closed, quickly and continuously, the stripes divide a space for the moment: for focused work or creative exchange.

The OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified stripes are produced in Germany, from the fibre to the cut stripe, and made to measure in Switzerland. Plugged in, not glued, the components can be separated by material and recycled.

Height and width are made to measure, and for large widths several systems can be linked. Ten standard colours range from activating tones to calming ones, for monochrome or segmented schemes; the track comes in white, aluminium or black.

One blind, three settings

Practical sound absorption αp per octave band, measured to DIN EN ISO 354 with the stripes 150 mm in front of the wall, as at a window.

Closed or open

The same wall of stripes, turned. Closed, they take up most of the sound that reaches them; opened to 90°, the room behind them returns – and so does some of the echo.

Closed

Closed, 0°: αw 0.90, absorber class A.
